Character Basics Character Name Lilac, "The Sword of Heaven" Series/Canon Original AU/PG/Canon Point n/a Game sidereal_rp Canon Details once upon a time, a victim of a violently xenophobic attempt by a corrupt empire to use a small island full of people it deemed expendable as an experimental magic laboratory turned on her creators because she didn't want to be an experiment, she wanted to become a smug little warlord of her own. so she did, and she lived for a century with no real ambitions beyond ruling over her own little patch of hell and occasionally eating anyone who tried to disagree with her, until a very strong but somewhat morally questionable sorceress came along, busy doing something else entirely, and caused said warlord to fall for her by sheer force of personality. this naturally alarmed the empire, who had been fine with said warlord bucking their control for so long as long as her only victims stayed her own people but were not fine with the other possible options she could've explored there, and kind of sparked a lopsided attempt at a war. in the process of the sorceress dealing with her unexpected new sidekick's complicated backstory gatecrashing her own adventures they scoured the island of the imperial forces and were hailed as heroes. and then the empire actually declared war on the place before the sorceress - who let's remember is somewhat morally questionable - could move on and let her still-smitten warlord of a sidekick get back to her business of being her own boss and playing with her food, like the sorceress had intended to do. this was widely agreed by what few scraps of the empire survived the attempt to have been in retrospect a bad move. stuff went cosmic, there was a confrontation with a great darkness that the empire had been using to power their magical experiments that the warlord, angry and loyal, tried to bite off a piece of (resulting in a lengthy stay in a pocket dimension populated entirely by other version of herself she had to kill to gain the strength to escape its grasp and kill the doppelganger the darkness had sicced on the rest of the party in her absence), and in the end it turned out the ultimate power the sorceress had sought all along was the friends she made along the way. and she turned the great darkness inside out and took it inside herself and made it something else, equally weird and powerful but no longer omnicidally evil. which left the sorceress in the odd position of being powerful enough to rule a whole continent and unsure what to do about it. and the warlord pointed out to the rest of their friendship party that the people whose entire governing structure they'd just destroyed would need protection from anyone as powerful as they'd all become, and assistance, because someone had to take care of them. so they might as well do the job. the sorceress looked at her loyal helpers, her Sword, her Shield, her Gardener, her Dragon, all of them, and - her morals not being all that moral - agreed. and now the girl who became a weapon who became a warlord and then became a hero is a weapon again, but when she's not a weapon she goes to a home she half-carved herself into the side of a mountain where she has spent the last several hundred years happily seducing any attractive ladies that catch her eyes in the nearby village to come live with her, and if she succeeds and they can't keep up with what she wants from them she makes them into something weaponish, like herself, sometimes, or she eats them instead, sometimes, because habits are habits and like her they die hard and nobody is going to stop her and she's been many things in her long life, but she's never really been good. Character Details Age looks like she could be in college; is actually hundreds of years old Hair/Eyes brown hair, brown eyes; her eyes flare silver if it's magic time Height/Weight maybe five feet tall but probably shorter when wet; weighs like three times what a human her general appearance should weigh Notable Traits really does not act like somebody who dresses as finely as she does, because her clothes are magic so she doesn't have to worry about ruining them every time she has to make an effort at anything. 15 Second Summary bad sense of humor. sleepy-eyed (both in the classical delinquent sense and the "will sleep while she lets someone else take care of it" sense). has a big sword. (this is not why she is named "the" Sword.) can eat people for fun but thinks it's a real point of principled pride that cattle feel safe in the hands of their farmers. right-hand-of-doom to one of the major near-deific powers of her world. likes it when cute girls yell at her. the only person who can call her Lilac to her face is her Lady. Abilities & Permissions Abilities her whole body is a living weapon, by design; can uncoil any part of herself including "all of herself" into a massive tangle of razor sharp blade-ribbons. (her teeth can do this, too. it just looks like she's grown a mouth entirely full of fangs.) super strong and super dense; can catch a cannonball bare-handed and throw it back harder than it was fired at her, will break most things if she falls on them from high up enough. heightened senses and reflexes; the usual "apex predator" nonsense plus the ability to see and smell most forms of magic. her body needs to consume frankly obscene amounts of food to compensate for being a murder machine and it isn't picky about what; it will even start consuming itself as a food source if nothing else presents itself fast enough. has a sword. knows how to use it. for murder. Permissions for starters i would prefer discussing things over discord or in dw DMs or in comments to this post; my plurk is a private and personal account and not really intended for general RP stuff. sorry if that's awkward. i'll try and revive my old rp account if it gets to be a serious issue. i've revived my old rp account and am updating contact info stuff accordingly. by all means still reply to this post if possible or use discord/DMs if you'd also prefer that, but i'll be more available on plurk now. the Sword is absurdly physically strong. i'm not expecting a whole lot of antagonistic pvp (i am aware of how ridiculous this sounds, given the character i'm very clearly filing the serial numbers off of here), but i figure it's worth observing someone had best be prepared to fight if they want to pick a real fight with her anyway; sparring is whatever, though. she has basically no psychic defenses besides the extremely sturdy self-image that comes with killing your own alternate selves repeatedly again and again to reaffirm you are absolutely who you intended to become, though, so she's extremely vulnerable to mindreading and the like; if you want to know anything about what's going on in that head of hers, just ask, she'll be an open book. that said definitely ask if you're going to forcefully change her mind for some reason, because she'll react extremely poorly to that. ask me if you're going to try anything weird. maybe i'm into weird? but i won't know unless you ask. in fact just ask about anything in general, if it's the sort of thing you can't guarantee everybody's on the same page about. if you are fine with your character potentially being eaten please tell me but if you're not fine with it, don't worry, just don't say anything in the replies! please tell me (in replies, if you'd prefer to do so - comments are screened for your privacy, if that's a concern) if you need/don't need content warnings for mentions of extreme acts of gore, death, coercion, child abuse and exploitation and body dysphoria, because this is a character whose backstory is riddled with all of them. that said, i don't want anyone to feel obligated to say anything if the subject is too difficult to even bring up as a request. i get how that is, so, uh, i'll assume if i don't hear anything from you about this at all that you'd prefer not to play with this character at all and will meet your needs accordingly. i've got a few triggers i have had to learn to live with, so i'll be doing my best to take your own warnings for your characters' potentially triggering content to heart as well, after all. Sensing definitely smells of big time cosmic-scale magic, if confined in a very comparatively tiny little humany container. definitely will notice same. if your character has murderpings, holy shit she has killed so many people. she doesn't seem to have any trouble sleeping at night about it.
